Natural Wood Straight French Horn Mute

Not all straight mutes aim for the same thing.

If you are a professional musician, you know that you need to have several models depending on the repertoire you are playing.

Some mutes are designed for a more metallic, more aggressive sound.

My mute is not like that.

It is designed for when you need just the opposite:

a more controlled sound
nothing harsh
nothing aggressive

A sound that blends in.

Because there are moments —chamber music, choral, passages with echo effect, or even as a soloist—
where you don't need to stand out…

you need to blend in.

I achieve this with the combination of measurements and materials I use in its manufacture.

The goal is to avoid that metallic and aggressive effect
and achieve a balanced sound that is not jarring

A sound that is a must-have in your mute collection.

Another important aspect:

French horn bells are not all the same.

And that means the mute goes in more or less…
and directly affects the intonation.

That is why it incorporates a movable inner leadpipe, which allows you to adjust the intonation to your horn.

Once you have it adjusted…
you stop constantly correcting.

The intonation has to be spot on.

No surprises.
No struggling with it.

Made with a very thin layer of natural wood impregnated with fiber.
Natural wood base and finished with extra strong clear varnish.

The cork is a mixture of natural cork with recycled rubber.
And to protect it, it comes with a fabric cover.
