Javier Bonet, after beginning his training in Spain at the hands of his father and D. Miguel Rodrigo in Valencia, continued and perfected his studies at the Folkwang Musikhochschule in Essen (Germany) with Hermann Baumann. He also participated in master classes with professors such as Daniel Bourgue, Philip Farkas, Vicente Zarzo or Ab Koster.
Restless researcher, international soloist, very active in chamber music, his great versatility means that he simultaneously develops internationally recognized work in the field of natural horn. He is acclaimed worldwide as a reference in the interpretation with historical instruments and creator of the group of natural horns "Corniloquio". With the natural horn he has already published four CDs with ARSIS, with Miriam Gómez-Morán (Tableau Musical and Sonatas for pianoforte and horn) and with Corniloquio, one dedicated to Dauprat and the other to J. F Gallay. With the modern horn we can see him premiering compositions by the most up-to-date creators, as well as shining in the world of the most varied chamber music or presenting original educational programs.
He has played as a soloist with most of the Spanish orchestras, in many European countries and in Taiwan, China, Venezuela, Argentina, Japan or the USA. It has several world premieres of concerts with orchestra, such as those by E. Cosma, J. Colomer, M. Constant, the premiere in Spain of the Ligeti concert in 2000 and in 2009 the world premiere with the National Orchestra of Spain of the Concert “Ab Origine” by Salvador Brotons. Among his numerous recordings with the modern horn for record companies such as VERSO or ARSIS, the concert for horn and orchestra "Naturaleza Humana" by Juanjo Colomer and the 4 horn concertos by W. A. Mozart, with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester under the direction of Hermann Baumann, stand out.
His most recent record work for the new EXAUDIO label is “JUST for FUN” with Miriam Gómez-Morán on piano, a record with his own arrangements of works originally conceived for the most varied instruments, such as voice, piano, cello or the violin. Highlight his last tour with Miriam Gómez-Morán on piano, touring the US with a final recital at Carnegie Hall in New York.
In the field of Pedagogy, he regularly teaches numerous courses both in Spain, for various national conservatories, and abroad: Lisbon, Porto, Paris, Budapest, Berlin, University of Indiana, Curtis of Philadelphia, University of Arizona, Mexico, Caracas, Seoul. , Beijing or Tokyo. He was a professor at the Superior Conservatory of Salamanca and is currently a professor of natural horn and modern horn at the ESMUC in Barcelona.
Awarded in various international competitions, he is now a jury member of the most prestigious competitions; Portia, Geneva and ARD of Munich. Javier Bonet has been a member of the National Orchestra of Spain since 1987.
